My husband and I have been hunkered down at home like everyone else in the US, we are following the rules and are waiting out this epidemic. It’s been two weeks and I’m doing fine and keeping busy. But that's now. I first had to recover from the shock of abruptly postponing sessions indefinitely and then the emptiness that followed. I like being busy so the stillness on top of what was happening around us, disoriented me for a while - my brain rattled quickly and uncontrollably from one thought to another. Once I settled, I recognized the silence as an opportunity to work on creative projects I had to put off.
If you’re like me and are looking for something to do, here are photo-centric things you do now that will pay off in spades down the road when normalcy returns.
Curate the images on your phone. Delete duplicates and rejects – the half blinks, the blurry etc. Imagine the beauty of not having to scroll through the garbage to show off the photos of your kids.
Print your favorites. I can’t say this enough, there is nothing better than tangible prints because they will last several lifetimes.
For those of you that have loads of printed photos stored in boxes, order some albums and get to creating beautiful books to display.
If you’ve recently had a professional session but haven’t had to time to select your favorite and order your prints, now is the perfect to do it.
